BALIK WOWOWEE/

Over the weekend, I read that Wowowee was going back on-air. I guess the recent hullabaloo over country’s supposed state of emergency and the landslide at Leyte has overshadowed this tragedy. Sad. It looks like ABS-CBN has just received yet another get out of jail card.

ABS-CBN. It once stood for something noble... a Pinoy success story. The network inspired Filipinos all-over the world to take pride. After all, it was thru their patronage that the network climbed to the top. However, over the years ABS has tarnished their name by becoming a corrupt organization, selling their souls in a desperate attempt to hang on to ratings. Talk to anyone who has worked for ABS and they will tell you the horrors behind this shining star.

The Wowowee debacle is a prime example of how ABS will do anything for ratings.
The accident was senseless. Imagine your life being ended by running feet. But that’s what happens when you promise dirt-poor people the chance to be instant millionaires. Whether it intended to or not, Wowowee encourages mendicancy. It's telling everyone out there that dancing around, telling your sad life story, shedding some tears will catch the sympathy of a rich OFW which will ensure your family eats the next week. What happened to good old hard work? How long will our countrymen be enslaved by their dependence on the compassion of others.

ABS -CBN continuously preys on the masses. The stampede cost the lives of many, but millions everyday are poisoned by their irresponsible programming. What kind of values does Wowowee promote? A friend of mine texted me right after hearing about the stampede, “Such a waste. It’s so degrading. Dangling money over the people, encouraging them to hope for get-money-quick schemes, and making money of it as well”. Wowowee and ABS-CBN is no different from those pimps pushing street children to sell sampaguitas on the street. In fact they’re worse because they have the power to do it en masse. Binubugaw nila ang masang Pilipino.

And they’re about to do it all over again.

Kapuso o kapamilya?

Nalulungkot man akong sabihin, but I strongly disagree.

Just thoughts, kapamilya.

as for the ABS CBN stampede thing, well someone said that we shouldn't hinge our successes on luck alone.
