A SHORT PRAYER/

My little brother was praying out loud for me the other night. It went something like...

Please make ate have the knowledge, and do well at work.
Make her beautiful always.
Do not make her die, do not make her sick,
do not make her have bad luck, make her have good luck.
And do not make her be guilty like the girl in the commercial

I had to interrupt him right then and there. I asked him what commercial he was referring to. Apparently, it was this Cream Silk commercial I hated. It shows a starkly lit girl trying to comb through her hair unsuccessfully because she had it styled. She's saying some mumbo jumbo about how she feels guilty for having styled her hair because, "now it's damaged"
(with reverb on the word damaged)

I lectured him on how this was a BAD commercial and how he should not be filling his little head with it, let alone repeating it to me. Eversince he's been here, he's been absorbing commercials like a sponge. It's amazing (and truly terrifying) how advertisements zap the untrained mind.

He's already asked me to buy him Pepsi Ice

He's also considered buying the Green Sunsilk to help him lengthen his short hair

And he had this to say about the Tropicana Twister commercial, "That must be good, everyone looks so happy!". This is a commercial featuring JR and Heart dancing at tables, jumping from one scene to the other, doing the twist to a hyperactive jingle with no sense whatsoever.

If this is the kind of mind I am writing for, all I have to say is...
GOD, HELP US ALL.
